Upgrade from Salesforce Lite to Standard Integration

  • Updated

Context

In Demandbase, admins can upgrade a Salesforce Lite integration to a standard integration. Differences between the Lite and standard integrations include:

  • Standard integration requires the Demandbase Connected App (from the Salesforce AppExchange).
  • Standard integration reads and writes-back data to Salesforce.
  • Standard integration requires a Salesforce Admin to set up the integration.
  • All features that involve write-back, such as Demandbase Calculated Fields and Take Action, are supported.

As with the Lite Salesforce integration, the standard integration offers SSO authentication to enable the optional Pardot integration. See Integrate Pardot and Demandbase.

Prerequisites/Preparation

You must have Admin privileges for the same Salesforce tenant that was originally used for the Salesforce Lite integration. Do not integrate with a different Salesforce tenant.
Important: As a best practice, we highly recommend that you create a dedicated Salesforce API user profile that Demandbase can use to synchronize with via the Salesforce API. This practice makes it much easier to update, than if the dedicated Salesforce user profile is an employee who leaves or changes roles.

You must have Admin privileges in Demandbase.

Complete step 1 and step 2 from Demandbase and Salesforce Integration Overview to get your Salesforce OAuth information.

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Settings N.png Settings > Integrated Systems > Integrations.
  2. Under CRM & Marketing Automation Systems, click Salesforce.
  3. Scroll down to OAuth Settings and click Edit.
  4. Select Salesforce.
