Site Customization allows you to create personalized web experiences for target accounts. You can customize website content based on account attributes, track visitor interactions such as page visits and clicks, and send events to Google Analytics for deeper insights.
Important: You can't customize website elements that load after the Demandbase tag loads, such as carousels, drop-downs, iFrames, or elements that require visitor interaction to display additional content.
Target Account Examples
You can use account lists or selectors to define the target accounts for each experience. See Understanding Account Lists: The Heart of Your ABM Strategy.
Examples:
- Industry: If you offer HR software, customize messaging for software, retail, and hospitality companies.
- Department: If you offer CRM software, customize messaging for engineers, product managers, and marketers.
- Tier: Show exclusive event invitations to Tier 1 accounts.
Prerequisites to Create a Site Customization Experience
- You must have a license for Personalization.
- You can create up to 30 live experiences. To create more experiences, contact your Demandbase Account Team.
- You must have the Demandbase tag deployed on the web pages you want to customize.
- Your website domain must be included in the Allowed Domains settings. Go to
Settings > Demandbase-Wide Settings > Allowed Domains > Add a domain.
Important: Includehttp://orhttps://at the beginning of the URL. Your browser must allow web page previews. For example, a consent manager that declines all cookies may prevent previews from loading.
Tip: Whitelist the IP range52.4.63.192/27.If your website uses a Content Security Policy (CSP), ensure that it allows Site Customization tracking requests. See Configure Content Security Policy for Site Customization.
- Create an account list. See Create an Account List.
Configure Content Security Policy for Site Customization
If your website uses a Content Security Policy (CSP), you must allow connections to the Demandbase Site Customization event endpoint to ensure that experience events are recorded.
Important: If your CSP blocks the event endpoint, Site Customization experiences still display correctly, but Demandbase cannot record experience views, clicks, or modification failures. As a result, Site Customization reporting shows missing or incomplete data.
This is in addition to the CSP entries the Demandbase tag already requires, such as https://api.company-target.com in connect-src.
Add one of the following to the connect-src directive in your website's CSP:
-
*.company-target.com(recommended) https://et.company-target.com
Tip: We recommend using *.company-target.com because it covers every Demandbase endpoint in connect-src, including identification and events, so later changes do not require another CSP update. If your security policy requires explicit hosts, make sure both https://api.company-target.com and https://et.company-target.com are listed.
Work with your website administrator to update your CSP configuration.
