Understanding Recommended Actions in Demandbase One for Sales

Recommended Actions uses your default account list to identify accounts and people to focus on and recommend what to do next. Review weekly recommendations, understand why each action was recommended, and take action directly from AI Chat in Sales. These recommendations apply across your account list.

How to Use Recommended Actions

Recommended Actions helps you prioritize outreach and act without switching between tools.

  1. Review actions by priority.
  2. Review the account, contact, signals, and reason for each recommendation.
  3. Act on a recommendation.
  4. Mark actions as complete, snooze, or dismiss them. Your actions inform future recommendations.

Prerequisites to Access Recommended Actions

Why is an Action Unavailable?

Available actions depend on your permissions and connected integrations. For example, Salesforce actions require a Salesforce integration and the required user permissions to edit Salesforce data.

Access Recommended Actions

You can access Recommended Actions from the Demandbase One for Sales (DB1S) Dashboard or AI Chat in Sales.

Access Recommended Actions from the DB1S Dashboard

  1. Log in to Demandbase One for Sales.
  2. From the left navigation bar, go to Dashboard.
  3. In the top Recommended Actions banner, click View All Recommended Actions.
    Important: The banner appears only when you have eligible recommendations.

Access Recommended Actions from AI Chat in Sales

  1. Log in to Demandbase One for Sales.
  2. From the left navigation bar, go to AI Chat.
  3. At the bottom of the Top priority actions waiting for you section, click See All Recommended Actions.

The Top Priority Actions Waiting for You section also lets you search for an account or person, review your five highest-priority recommendations, and view action details.

  • Search for an account or person.
  • Review your top five priority recommendations.
  • Hover over an action to view more details.
  • Click the [Action] link to go to the action workflow.

Review Recommended Actions

The Recommended Actions page includes overview cards and a list of recommended actions.

Recommended Action Overview Cards

The overview cards summarize your recommended actions:

  • Today's Progress: The number of actions you completed today out of the total number of actions.
  • Priority Actions: The number of time-sensitive recommendations to address first.
  • Do Next: Recommendations to address after completing your Priority Actions.

Important: Priority Actions and Do Next help you prioritize your work. They do not guarantee urgency, conversion, or a particular sales outcome.

Review Priority Actions Details

The Priority Actions section lists your recommended actions, including the recommended action, associated account and person, and reason for the recommendation.

Use the following options to review and manage the list:

  • Select the top right Open Action, Completed, or Dismissed drop-down to filter actions by status.
  • Search for an account or person.
  • Sort actions by the following:
    • Importance: Priority action generation date.
    • Recency: Action generation date.
    • Account: Alphabetically by account name.
  • Use the arrows at the bottom to move between pages.
  • Use Rows per page to change the number of actions displayed on each page.

Take Recommended Actions

  1. From the Recommended Actions page, hover over a recommended action.
  2. Select the available action icon.
  3. Complete the action workflow.

Add People to Sales Engagement Platform (SEP)

Use the available action to engage with the recommended person.

  1. Click the [Action] icon. For example, Outreach.
  2. Complete the required fields.
  3. Click the [Action] button. For example, Add to Sequence.
  4. Click  the bottom Complete icon to mark the action as complete.

Export Contacts or Leads to CRM

Export the account or person to your CRM.

  1. Click the [Action] icon. For example, Export to Salesforce.
  2. Match the record to a CRM record as needed.
  3. Click the [Action] button. For example, Export to Salesforce as Lead.
  4. Click the bottom Complete icon to mark the action as complete.

Draft Personalized Email

Use Email Agent to draft a message for the person.

  1. Click Draft Email Message.
  2. Edit the message as needed.
  3. Click Generate Email Message.
  4. (Optional) Click one of the following icons to edit the message:
    • Regenerate
    • Copy
    • Configure
    • Collapse Section
  5. Click Copy & Open Email.
  6. Send the email using your email client.

Hover over the Call Now icon and select an option to provide feedback for future recommendations:

  • No-follow-up needed
  • Call tomorrow
  • Follow up next week
  • Add a note

Draft LinkedIn Message

Use Email Agent to draft a message, then send the person a message on LinkedIn.

  1. Click Draft LinkedIn Message.
  2. Edit the message as needed.
  3. Click Generate LinkedIn Message.
  4. (Optional) Click one of the following icons to edit the message:
    • Regenerate
    • Copy
    • Configure
    • Collapse Section
  5. Click Copy & Open LinkedIn.
  6. Send the message on LinkedIn.

Hover over the Connect on LinkedIn icon and select an option to provide feedback for future recommendations:

  • No-follow-up needed
  • Call tomorrow
  • Follow up next week
  • Add a note

Draft Talking Points for Call

Use Email Agent to draft talking points before a call.

  1. Click Draft Talking Points.
  2. Edit the message as needed.
  3. Click Generate Talking Points.
  4. (Optional) Click one of the following icons to edit the message:
    • Regenerate
    • Copy
    • Configure
    • Collapse Section
  5. Click Download to download the text file of the draft.

Hover over the Call Now icon and select an option to provide feedback for future recommendations:

  • No-follow-up needed
  • Call tomorrow
  • Follow up next week
  • Add a note

Manage Recommended Actions

At the bottom of the recommended action, snooze or dismiss a recommended action, or view the associated record in DB1S.

  • Snooze: Defer the action for up to one month by selecting one of the following:
    • Tomorrow
    • Next Week
    • In 2 weeks
    • Pick a date
  • Dismiss: Remove an action from your recommendations by selecting one of the following:
    • Already in touch
    • Not a fit
    • No longer company
    • Add a note
  • View Profile: Open the person’s profile in DB1S.
