Create Demandbase Calculated Fields for Connected Mode

  • Updated

Calculated fields for Connected mode allows customers that have integrated a CRM with Demandbase One to see a roll-up of Demandbase data. You can also push the Demandbase data to CRM custom fields.

Calculated fields are custom Demandbase fields that return a value based on a time range calculation. For example, the Engagement Minutes (1 mo.) calculated field returns the total engagement minutes on an account for a one month time period.

Demandbase provides a set of standard calculated fields to help you get started.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required Demandbase settings access.
Tip: The fields and their data will be available to all Demandbase users.
  • For Calculated Fields that use activities, you must first assign Engagement Minutes to the activities. See Set Up Engagement Minutes for Activities.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Settings_N.png Settings > Platform > Demandbase Calculated Fields.
  2. Click Refresh CRM Fields (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics) to get the latest fields from your CRM.
  3. Click Create New.
  4. In the Demandbase Calculated Field window, select one of the available Data types.
    • Engagement Minutes
    • Count of Engagement Activities
    • Count of People
    • First Engagement Date
    • Last Engagement Date
    • Predictive Score (See Map Predictive Scores to CRM Custom Fields.)
    • Predictive Score - Opportunity Type (See Map Predictive Scores to CRM Custom Fields.)
    • Segment (See Map Segments to CRM Custom Fields.)
Important: You can only use Account and People segments in Demandbase Calculated Fields.
    • Top Occurring Activities (top three activities): For the Top Occurring Type, select Intent to see Demandbase intent activity or Page URLs to see web pages visits.
Important: Top Occurring Intent is only available for Demandbase data. Third Party intent (Intent Surge) is excluded.
  5. Configure the remaining settings in the Demandbase Calculated Field window. The fields vary depending on the data type that you selected.
Tip: These settings are all optional.

    • Time Range: We highly recommend that you change the default All Time setting to a time range that is most relevant to your use case. For example, 30 days, 90 days, or one year.
    • Define Criteria: Click this if you want to add criteria using Selectors. Selectors allow you to narrow down the calculation based on the filters applied.
    • Map to CRM Field (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics): Select the custom field you created in your CRM that you want to map to at the Account, Lead, or Contact level.
    • Write-back Enabled: Toggle on to allow Demandbase to push the data from the field to your CRM.
  6. Click Save.

Outcome

The calculated field can be accessed throughout Demandbase One. Demandbase calculated field data will be available in the customer database as described in Understanding Demandbase Data Availability.

Add the calculated field as a Selector criteria for account lists and reports or as a column to view in tables throughout the platform.
