The parent-child roll-up feature aggregates engagement data from child accounts into their parent account, providing a unified view of account activity across hierarchies defined in Salesforce.
You can roll-up data within Demandbase, write back rolled-up data to Salesforce, or use both options depending on your needs.
Key Features
- Roll-up People, Opportunity, and Activity engagement data from child accounts.
- Apply roll-ups across all hierarchy levels in Salesforce.
- View aggregated data in Demandbase and Salesforce.
- Maintain individual engagement data at the child account level.
Important: The roll-up feature is only available for Salesforce.
Rolled-Up Engagement Fields
Parent accounts show aggregated values for:
- Engagement Points (7 days)
- Engagement Points (1 mo.)
- Engagement Points (3 mo.)
- High Intent Engagement Mins (1 mo.)
- Demandbase Calculated Fields that are Number (Engagement Points, Count of Activities) type. See Create Demandbase Calculated Fields for Connected Mode.
How to See Rolled-Up Data in Salesforce
Important: To enable or disable the write-back of rolled-up engagement data to Salesforce, contact Demandbase Support.
When enabled, Demandbase writes aggregated engagement data to parent accounts in Salesforce.
- Parent account data reflects the sum of parent and child engagement.
- Child accounts continue to show individual engagement data.
Prerequisites
- You must integrate Demandbase with Salesforce.
- You must configure parent-child account hierarchy in Salesforce.
Enable Roll-Up in Demandbase
Important: Roll-up applies at the account level only (not account lists) and is enabled tenant-wide.
- From the left navigation bar, go to
Analytics.
- At the top account drop-down list, select any parent account.
- Click the three dots next to the date range, and select Roll Up Child Accounts.
Disable Roll-Up in Demandbase
- From the left navigation bar, go to
Analytics.
- At the top account drop-down list, select any parent account.
- Click the three dots next to the date range, and select Stop Rolling Up Child Accounts.
Outcome
With roll-up enabled, parent accounts display combined engagement from all child accounts.
For example, engagement from child accounts such as Cruise LLC and GM Financial Company is included in the parent account, General Motors.
Tip: You can still view individual account engagement data by navigating to each child account.
