Demandbase can automatically send notifications to your Slack app channel when an account (known and unknown) from your subscribed Account List engages with your website. Slack alerts show the account name, pages viewed, known visitors, and Recommended People (if available). See Understanding Snapshot Emails, Slack Alerts, Reports, and Subscriptions.
If you have the auto-create account list feature enabled, website visitor Slack alerts are automatically delivered to account owners. Going forward, the weekly sync identifies new Demandbase users and adds them to the Slack alert distribution list.
You can customize Slack Alerts for individual and multiple users.
Important:
- Website visitor Slack alerts are available as early as 30 minutes after the visit.
- Demandbase Slack alerts are sent on a scheduled frequency, they are not real-time like Slack messages.
- Demandbase can only send alerts to the Demandbase app channel. We can’t send alerts to public Slack channels.
Known Website Visitor
Known website visitor information is available if you integrate Demandbase with your Marketing Automation System (MAS). Known people from your MAS are matched to accounts using Demandbase’s account identification technology.
Important: Known website visitor details, such as misspelled, incorrect, or missing names, is based on information from your MAS.
Recommended People
When an unknown visitor views your website, Demandbase uses a combination of Buying Group and Person-Based Intent (PBI) data to recommend people from that Account who are most likely showing intent signals.
See Understanding Recommended People and Person Based Intent (PBI).
Alert Suppression Interval
Alert Suppression Interval setting controls how frequently a user can receive alerts for the same account.
Alert suppression is applied per user email address and account, not per subscription. This means that regardless of how many subscriptions match an account, a user can receive at most one successful alert for that account within the configured suppression window.
Key Behaviors
- Per user, per account: Suppression is based on the combination of recipient email and account ID.
- Not subscription-specific: Multiple subscriptions for the same user share the same alert history when determining suppression eligibility.
- Different accounts are independent: Activity on one account does not suppress alerts for another account.
- No delayed delivery: Suppressed alerts are intentionally discarded and are not queued or sent later when the suppression interval expires.
- New activity after the interval expires can generate a new alert: Once the suppression window has passed, a subsequent qualifying event can trigger another alert.
Example
If you receive an alert for Account ABC at 10:00 AM and your Alert Suppression Interval is 30 minutes, any additional alerts for Account ABC before 10:30 AM is suppressed. Those suppressed alerts are not delivered later. However, activity on Account ABC during that same period can still generate a separate alert because suppression is tracked independently for each account.
