You can configure the HubSpot integration as either a HubSpot Marketing Automation System (MAS) integration or a HubSpot CRM integration. After setup, you cannot change the integration type.
To replace an existing HubSpot MAS integration with a HubSpot CRM integration, first complete the steps in Delete an Existing HubSpot MAS Integration. Then configure a new HubSpot CRM integration.
Prerequisites for Integrating HubSpot CRM and Demandbase
- Review Best Practices: HubSpot CRM Permissions.
- You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required Demandbase settings access.
- Important: If installing in a Sandbox, only connect a HubSpot Sandbox to a Demandbase Sandbox. Reach out to your Implementation Manager and confirm you have a Demandbase Sandbox environment.
Step 1: Authenticate
- Completely log out of HubSpot from every window and tab.
- Log in to Demandbase One for Marketing.
- From the left navigation bar, go to
Settings > Integrated Systems > Integrations.
- Click New Integration.
- Under CRM, click HubSpot.
- Go to Step 1: Authenticate tab and click Authenticate with HubSpot.
- Log in to HubSpot CRM using admin credentials.
- Accept the terms and conditions and click Connect app.
- Click Next.
- Complete the steps in Step 2: Field Selection.
Step 2: Field Selection (Select HubSpot CRM Fields)
- Go to Step 2: Field Selection tab.
- (Optional) Go to the Account Fields, Contact Fields, Lead Fields, and Deal Fields tab and select the HubSpot fields you want to sync with Demandbase. See Field Ingestion Control for HubSpot CRM.
- Click Next.
- Complete the steps in Step 3: Field Mappings.
Step 3: Field Mappings (Map HubSpot CRM Fields)
- Go to Step 3: Field Mappings tab.
- (Optional) Map Demandbase fields to HubSpot fields. See Manage Demandbase One Field Mapping to HubSpot CRM.
- Click Next.
- Complete the steps in Step 4: Record Ingestion.
Step 4: Record Ingestion (Select HubSpot Accounts)
- Go to Step 4: Record Ingestion tab.
- (Optional) From the drop-down, select a List from your HubSpot CRM. See Record Ingestion Control for HubSpot CRM.
- Click Save.
(Optional) Configure Additional HubSpot CRM Integration Settings
- From the left navigation bar, go to
Settings > Integrated Systems > Integrations.
- Click HubSpot.
- Go to Settings tab.
- Go to the desired section and click Edit. You can edit the following settings:
- General Settings: To enable or disable the integration, toggle or untoggle the Active button.
- OAuth Settings: To update integration user credentials, click Re-authenticate and see steps 7-9 in Step 1: Authenticate.
- Filtering Rules: Filter accounts syncing with Demandbase. See Record Ingestion Control for HubSpot CRM.
- Click Save.
Delete an Existing HubSpot MAS Integration
You must delete an existing HubSpot MAS integration before setting up a HubSpot CRM integration.
- From the left navigation bar, go to
Settings > Integrated Systems > Integrations.
- Hover over HubSpot, click the gear icon, and click Delete Integration.
- Enter Hubspot and click Delete.
- Once the integration is completed, click New Integration.
- Under CRM, click HubSpot.
- Start with Step 1: Authenticate and complete all integration steps.
Outcome
After you complete the setup, Demandbase begins syncing data from HubSpot CRM. Data becomes available according to the schedules described in Understanding Demandbase Data Availability.

After synchronization, the following HubSpot CRM objects and their default and custom fields are available in the Demandbase Database:
- Accounts (companies)
- People (contacts)
- Opportunities (deals)
- Activities
- Users
Demandbase Data in HubSpot CRM
Demandbase automatically creates custom fields (properties) in HubSpot CRM through an API. See Demandbase Custom Fields in HubSpot CRM.
Demandbase updates these custom fields daily.
