Export to HubSpot in Demandbase One for Sales

The Export to HubSpot feature lets you create new records or update existing records in HubSpot CRM using data from Demandbase One for Sales.

You can export accounts and contacts from the Demandbase One for Sales web app, browser extension, and HubSpot App Card.

Important: You can only export or update up to 100 records at a time.

Prerequisites for Export to HubSpot in Demandbase One for Sales

• You must have a license for both Demandbase One for Marketing and Demandbase One for Sales.
• You must integrate Demandbase with HubSpot.
  • CRM mode: Export accounts and contacts.
  • Marketing Automation (MAS) mode: Export contacts  only.
• (Optional) You can adjust the Demandbase-to-HubSpot CRM field mappings. See Manage Demandbase One Field Mapping to HubSpot CRM.

Records You Can Export to HubSpot

When exporting contacts, Demandbase:

• Creates a new contact if a matching contact doesn't exist in HubSpot.
• Updates an existing contact if a match is found.
• Associates the contact with the correct account in HubSpot when account data is available.
• Creates a new account in HubSpot, if needed, and associates the new contact with it.
• Assigns you as the contact owner in HubSpot for newly created contacts.

Credits Used for Export to HubSpot

Exporting accounts or contacts to HubSpot uses export credits from Demandbase One for Sales. Creating or updating a record uses one credit. Your remaining balance appears in the Take Action export menu.

Export to HubSpot in Demandbase One for Sales

1. In Demandbase One for Sales, select an account or contact record(s).
2. Click Take Action > Export to HubSpot.
3. Go to the right panel and select the records you want to export or update.
4. (Optional) The change the matched record, next to the record, click Edit, and select from the following options:
   • Accounts
     • Existing record
     • Create a new company
       
   • Contact
     • Existing record
     • Create new contact at this company
     • Create new contact only
     • Create new contact at new company
       
5. Click Finish.
   Tip: Unmatched records create new records in your HubSpot, while matched records update existing records.
6. Review the export status and click Close.

Troubleshoot Export to HubSpot Issues

Why don't I see Export to HubSpot?
Your organization may not have integrated with HubSpot, or your account may not have the required license. Contact your Demandbase admin.

Why can I export contacts but not companies?
Your HubSpot integration is in Marketing Automation System (MAS) mode, which only supports contacts. Ask your Demandbase admin to connect HubSpot in CRM mode.

What should I do if my export fails?
A HubSpot field may have rejected a value, such as an invalid picklist value. Check the field mappings in Settings > Integrations > HubSpot, or contact your Demandbase admin.

Can I export leads?
No. HubSpot does not use a Lead object. Export contacts instead.
