Understanding Geographic Data in Demandbase

Demandbase captures geographic information in multiple ways, associating location data with accounts, people, and activities.

Understanding where each type of geographic data originates and what it represents, helps you select the appropriate fields for analysis and easily distinguish between similarly named location fields.

Page Visit Geolocation Fields

The following location fields are available for web page visits tracked by the Demandbase tag.

Important: If the city is unknown, Demandbase displays the state, province, or region. If that is also unknown, it displays the country. Location data is not aggregated. Each entry reflects the most specific available location. For example, “Saint Paul, Minnesota,” “Minnesota,” and “United States” appear as three separate entries, each representing a different level of geographic specificity.
