Context
The Inventory Planner in Demandbase Advertising lets you quickly forecast an upcoming campaign before proceeding to the Campaign Builder. Some use cases for the Inventory Planner include campaign and media planning or budget management.
Campaign and Media Planning
- Allow for realistic campaign projections by aligning planned impressions with actual availability.
Budget Management
- Maximize reach and effectiveness by allocating budgets efficiently across campaigns based on available impressions.
- Prevent setting up campaigns that underdeliver due to a lack of impressions, avoiding unmet goals and dissatisfaction.
Once you enter the parameters for a campaign, the Inventory Planner shows details about its potential reach, available impressions, and maximum budget. You can also download a full report of the campaign forecast and recalculate the forecast after modifying the parameters.
Prerequisites/Preparation
You must have access to the Demandbase Advertising.
Steps
- From the left navigation bar, go to Advertising > Inventory Planner.
- Use the Flight dates date selectors to select the campaign start and end dates.
- From the Account list drop-down list, select an existing account list.
- From the Tier drop-down list, select the option with your cost per mille (CPM) range.
Tip: To check the CPM for your current campaigns, see the CPM column on the Domains tab at the bottom of the Campaigns dashboard. - Use the CPM slider to adjust the value as needed.
Tip: The value range available depends on the tier selected. By default, the CPM value used is the midpoint of the range. - From the Geotargeting drop-down list, select a location to target. If you select a location besides Global, select the regions, countries, or states to target.
- From the Ad type drop-down list, select the campaign format.
- From the Ad sizes drops-down list, select the checkboxes for the sizes to include.
- Click Calculate available inventory.
The forecast appears after a few moments.
- (Optional) Click Click to download the full report to generate and export a report as a CSV file.
- (Optional) Click Recalculate after modifying the campaign parameters to perform additional forecasting.
