The Velocity page in the Analytics section lets you see more details about the Velocity measured for each of your defined Journey Stages. The Velocity for a Journey Stage represents the average number of days accounts spent in the stage before moving to a forward stage during the selected date range.
To access the page, go to Analytics > Velocity from the left navigation bar. After you select an account list, you can use the date range selector and quick filters at the top of the page to update the data shown.
Tip: You can also access the page by clicking a stage under the Velocity metric on the Journeys page.
Journey Stage Velocity
The Journey Stage Velocity section shows the average number of days accounts spent in a particular stage before moving forward to the next stage during the selected date range. Demandbase calculates the amount of time that a unique account spent in a stage by tallying the number of days between the most recent transition into that stage and the latest transition out of that stage.
Tip: Select longer date ranges to see a more representative view of the data. We recommend looking at data over months instead of weeks.
Journey Heatmap
The Journey Heatmap allows you to view Velocity data at a glance. The average number of days accounts spent in a selected stage before moving to a forward stage is shown in the heatmap in boxes. Darker boxes represent more days. The data shown in the heatmap updates when you make selections in the Journey Stage Velocity section. For more information about heatmaps, see Understanding Heatmaps.
You can select one of the following Preset options from the drop-down list for easy filtering:
- Owner/Industry
- Owner/Type
- Owner/State
To use other account fields, click Custom and select them from the Rows and Columns drop-down list.
Journey Table
The Journey Table includes the Accounts and Stage Transitions tabs. The data shown in the table updates when you make selections in the Journey Stage Velocity section and Journey Heatmap.
The Accounts table shows account information and the Stage Transitions table shows data for each time that an account moved to a different stage.
Tips:
- To add, remove, or reorder the columns in the table, click Edit Columns.
