Automation: Convert Leads to Contacts in Salesforce

The Convert Leads to Contacts in Salesforce action allows you to automatically convert Salesforce Lead records into Contact records for the matched Account. See Understanding Lead to Account Matching.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required access to use Orchestration.
  • Demandbase must be integrated with Salesforce.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Orchestration_N.png Orchestration > Automations.
  2. Create an Automation with Person Member Type.
    Tip: You can edit an existing automation by clicking an Automation name.
  3. In the left main action panel, select CRM & MAS > Salesforce > Convert Lead to Contact.
  4. In the Add Action window, click Convert Lead to Contact.
  5. In the right sub-action panel, complete the following drop-downs: 
    • Assigned Contact Owner: Salesforce account owner to associate with the Contacts.
    • Converted Status: Status to assign to the converted Contacts.
    • Notification: Select the check box to email the Salesforce account owner about converted Contacts.
  6. Connect the sub-action node to the Set Automation Flow main action node.
  7. In the Set Automation Flow main action node, define the population and schedule.
  8. Publish the Automation.
