Change an Advertising Campaign

Context

After you've started setup of a campaign with self-serve Advertising, you can go back and make changes to the campaign and view a history of what's been done to configure it. You can edit both draft and published campaigns, but the set of permitted changes differs depending on the campaign status.

For any draft campaign, you have the option to make the following changes:

  • Edit the campaign configurations
  • Change the Account List
  • Change the Keyword Set
  • Duplicate the campaign 
  • Delete the campaign
  • Access the campaign settings
  • View the change history of the campaign

For any published campaign, you have the option to make the following changes:

  • Edit the campaign configurations
  • Duplicate the campaign 
  • Pause the campaign 
  • Access the campaign settings
  • View the change history of the campaign

Prerequisites/Preparation

You must have access to Demandbase Advertising.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Advertising_icon_gray_with_gray_background.png Advertising > Campaigns and scroll down to the Campaigns table.
  2. Hover over the name of the campaign that you want to change.
  3. Click the gear icon cogwheel_purple_on_white_background.png  that appears next to the campaign name.
  4. Select an option.

Edit campaign 

Use this option to make the following adjustments to the draft or live campaign:

  • Campaign name: Rename the campaign.
  • Add watchers: Add or remove watchers for this campaign 
  • Budget: Increase or decrease the budget.
    - On a live campaign, you can't change from a one-time campaign to a monthly campaign or vice versa.
    - Remember to make sure to not reduce the budget below what has been delivered.
  • Flight date: You can reduce or extend the end date, but you can’t change the start date if the campaign is in-flight.
  • Location: Change the geotargeting type.
  • Accounts: You can change the account list in the campaign only if the campaign is a draft. To do this:
    • Click Step 4 in Campaign Builder.
    • Select the drop-down under Select an account list for this campaign to change the list.
  • Keyword Set: You can change the keyword set in the campaign only if the campaign is a draft. To do this:
    • Click Step 4 in the Campaign Builder.
    • Select the drop down under Select a keyword set for this campaign to change the keyword set.
  • Creative: Add or remove creatives.

Duplicate campaign

This option creates a draft copy with the campaign configurations carried over.

Delete campaign

This option allows you to delete any drafts or campaigns that haven't spent any money yet. 

Pause campaign

This option allows you to pause the campaign.

Settings

Use this option to modify the audience or the profile for this campaign,  add or delete watchers who receive weekly Campaign Insight emails, and add any notes about the campaign. The Campaign settings configurations pop up on the right side of the screen.

Change history

This option allows you to keep track of any campaign configuration changes made by your organization as well as by Demandbase. The Change history option keeps track of the following campaign edits: 

  • Campaign creation (draft to publish) with campaign scope. 
  • Changes: 
    • Campaign name 
    • Budget
    • End date 
    • Geotargeting 
    • Creative and landing pages
