Context
Segments are a unique group of accounts, people, opportunities, or activities that share common characteristics, allowing you to target specific markets. See Understanding Segments.
You can create, manage, duplicate, and delete segments on the Segments page.
Prerequisites
You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required Demandbase settings access.
Steps: Create Segments
- From the left navigation bar, go to Settings > Demandbase-Wide Settings > Segments and click Create New.
-
In Name, enter a segment name. For example:
- Account Segments: Region, Industry, Account Type
- People Segments: Job Title, Department, Persona
- Opportunity Segments: Product, Opportunity Amount, Opportunity Type
- Activity Segments: Marketing vs. Sales Engagement, Source, Product
- In Member Type, select Accounts, People, Opportunities, or Activities.
- Click Create Segment.
- Click the plus sign to add groups.
-

-

-

- Click Close.
- Click the plus sign to create additional groups and repeat steps 6-9.
Important: If a person, account, opportunity, or activity qualifies for multiple groups, Demandbase assigns them to the first group they qualify for. Drag and drop to arrange the groups so that the one intended for your most important records is at the top.
For example, in a Campaign Responses segment, accounts may respond to both ABM Certification and Content Marketing campaigns. You may want to put the Content Marketing group first, because the Content Marketing campaign is a priority for your marketing team. - Click Save.
