Overview

The actions you can take on filters are Delete, Make Favorite/Unfavorite, Make Public, and Clone.

Steps for Deleting a Filter

Step 1. When you want to delete a filter, click the Database icon in the left panel and open the filters you want to work with.

Step 2. Select the filter you want to delete in the list of filters. 

Step 3. Click Delete in the drop-down menu to delete the entire filter from the system. Deleting an in-use filter will cause invalid logic anywhere that the filter was previously used.

Steps for Making a Filter a Favorite or Unfavorite

Save the filter as a favorite to reference it quicker. To make a filter a favorite:

Step 1. Click the Database icon in the left panel and open the filters you want to work with.
Step 2. Select the filter you want to make as a favorite in the list of filters.
Step 3.
Click Make Favorite in the drop-down menu or click the Favorites icon in the Favorite column.

If you no longer want the filter in your Favorites List, click Unfavorite from the drop-down menu. You can also click the Favorites icon in the Favorite column to unfavorite a filter that is saved as a favorite.

Steps for Making a Filter Public

When you make a filter public it makes the filter visible to all users within your organization.
Step 1. If the filter is already created, click the Database icon in the left panel.
Step 2. Select if you want to view Account Filters, Person Filters, Opportunity Filters or Activity Filters.

Step 3. Select the filters in the list that you want to make public.

Step 4. Click the drop-down arrow and select Make Public.

Step 5. A warning message appears.

  • Select the Publish filter checkbox.
  • Type the number of filters you want to publish.
  • Click Publish.

If you want to switch between public and private filters you can use the drop-down menu in the Filters table.

Steps for Cloning a Filter

If you have a Filter that you want to re-use without modifying the original you can clone the filter.
Step 1. When you want to clone a filter, click the Database icon in the left panel and open the filters you want to work with.

Step 2. Select the filter you want to clone in the list of filters.

Step 3.Click the three dots in the top right.

Step 4. Give the new cloned filter a name and description.

Step 5. Click Save.
