Understanding Buying Group Selectors

After setting up buying groups and buying group personas, you can use buying group relationship selectors to create lists, filters, reports, and other assets to use throughout Demandbase One. With these relationship selectors, you can identify and report on the following objects associated with buying groups and their members.

  • Accounts
  • People
  • Opportunities
  • Activities

Using buying groups in selectors allows you to:

  • Consistently target, engage, and track the key personas involved in buying decisions.
  • Engage personas or specific buying roles based on your go-to-market strategy by product, geography, vertical, or business unit.

Prerequisites

  • You must set up buying groups and buying group personas before you can use buying group selectors.
  • The availability of buying group selectors depends on the type of asset you are creating. For example, selectors related to buying group activities are available when you’re creating an activity filter or activity report.

Use Buying Group Selectors

The selectors for buying groups and buying group members are located in the Relationships section of the Advanced Selectors interface. You can also find them by entering buying groups or buying group members in the Search box.

Accounts, Persons, Opportunities, Activities with Buying Groups

The following table shows the operators available when applying Buying Group selectors:

Operator

Description

Any Show supported objects with any buying groups.
No Show supported objects without any buying groups.
At least Show supported objects with at least the specified number of buying groups.
At most Show supported objects with at most the specified number of buying groups.

The following table shows the fields available when applying Buying Group selectors:

Buying Group > Anonymous Engagement Points (Last 7 Days) Show supported objects based on associated unknown engagement points (from Intent Keyword Sets and Web Pages selected in Step 2: Product Interest) in the Last 7 Days
Buying Group > Anonymous Engagement Points (Last 30 Days) Show supported objects based on associated unknown engagement points (from Intent Keyword Sets and Web Pages selected in Step 2: Product Interest)  in the Last 30 Days
Buying Group > Anonymous Engagement Points (Last 90 Days) Show supported objects based on associated unknown engagement points (from Intent Keyword Sets and Web Pages selected in Step 2: Product Interest) in the Last 90 Days

Buying Group > Engagement Points (Last 30 Days) Show supported objects based on all associated engagement points (known + unknown) in the Last 30 Days
Buying Group > Engagement Points (Last 90 Days) Show supported objects based on all associated engagement points (known + unknown) in the Last 90 Days
Buying Group > Ideal Buying Group Include or exclude supported objects that the buying group members belong to based on the specified buying groups.
Buying Group > Created Date Include or exclude supported objects that the buying group members belong to based on the specified buying group creation date.
Buying Group > Missing Buyer Roles Include or exclude supported objects that the buying group members belong to based on the specified buyer roles that are not populated (have at least one member) in the Buying Group.
Buying Group > Missing Personas Include or exclude supported objects that the buying group members belong to based on the specified buying group personas that are not populated (have at least one member) in the Buying Group.
Buying Group > Completeness Score Integer (0 to 100, with 100 being highest) indicating percentage (%) of Buying Group Personas that have at least one member populated. See Understanding Buying Group Insights.

Accounts, Persons, Opportunities, Activities with Buying Group Members

Accounts with Buying Group Members

You can use this selector to show accounts in relation to buying group members.

The following table shows the operators available when applying Buying Group Members selectors for Accounts:

Any Show accounts with any buying group members.
No Show accounts without any buying group members.
At least Show accounts with at least the specified number of buying group members.
At most Show accounts with at most the specified number of buying group members.

The following table shows the fields available when applying Buying Group Members selectors for Accounts:

Buying Group Member > Buyer Roles Include or exclude accounts the buying group members belong to based on the specified buyer roles
Buying Group Member > Personas Include or exclude accounts the buying group members belong to based on the specified buying group personas.
Buying Group Member > Status Include or exclude accounts the buying group members belong to based on the specified buying group member status.
Person Include or exclude accounts the buying group members belong to based on the specified people criteria.

People with Buying Group Members

You can use this selector to identify people in relation to buying group members.

The following table shows the operators available when applying Buying Group Members selectors for People:

Description

Any Show people that are buying group members at accounts associated with buying groups.
No Show people that are not buying group members at accounts associated with buying groups.
At least Show people that are buying group members at account with at least the specified number of buying group members.
At most Show people that are buying group members at account with at most the specified number of buying group members.

Buying Group Member > Buyer Roles Include or exclude people that are buying group members in the specified buyer roles
Buying Group Member > Personas Include or exclude people that are buying group members in the specified buying group personas.

Account Include or exclude people based on the specified account criteria.

Opportunities with Buying Group Members with Opportunity Contact Roles

You can use this selector to show opportunities in relation to buying group members with opportunity contact roles.

The following table shows the operators available when applying Buying Group Members selectors for Opportunities:

Any Show opportunities that have any buying group members with opportunity contact roles. 
No Show opportunities that have no buying group members with opportunity contact roles.
At least Show opportunities that have at least the specified number of buying group members with opportunity contact roles.
At most Show opportunities that have at most the specified number of buying group members with opportunity contact roles.

You can use this selector to show activities in relation to buying group members.
