Add Actions to an Automation

  • Updated

Actions define what an Automation does after records meet the specified selector criteria.

Once Demandbase identifies qualifying accounts or people, Actions determine the specific steps the Automation takes. These steps can include sending data to integrated systems, creating tasks, or triggering sales and marketing workflows.

Actions are configured directly on the Automation canvas by adding and connecting Action nodes.

Main Action Types

There are several main action types in Automations. Each main action type includes a set of subactions.

Main action types include:

  • Content Syndication
  • CRM & MAS
  • Demandbase
  • Sales
  • Connectors

You select a main action type first, then add the appropriate sub-action on the canvas. For a full list of subactions, see Automation Actions.

What are Connectors?

Connectors are conditional nodes used to control the flow of your Automation. They allow you to apply logic so that different records take different action paths.

  • Decision: Take multiple actions based on conditions. For example, you can create Salesforce Tasks based on role - assigning a Call task for Directors and Email task for CXOs.
Important: Decision node requires at least two subactions and each path must have defined criteria.
  • Conditional Filter: Take single action based on condition.

You can connect the following main action types and their subactions to Connectors:

  • Content Syndication
  • CRM & MAS
  • Demandbase
  • Sales

  • You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required access to use Orchestration.
