Add Automation Actions to Create CRM Tasks

  • Updated

When you create an Automation, you can add an action to create tasks in your Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot CRM. For example, you can create tasks for sales when an account reaches MQA status or when an executive at a target account views a pricing page.

The actions you can add depend on the member type (Account or Person) selected for an Automation. See Automation Actions

You must have Admin privileges or be assigned to a permission set with the required access to use Demandbase Orchestration.

Demandbase Orchestration

You have set up one of the following CRM integrations:

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Orchestration_N.png Orchestration > Automations.
  2. Click Create New to create a new Automation or click the name of an existing Automation.
  3. Click the Actions tab and click the plus icon.
Tip: You can add multiple actions to an Automation. If an Automation already has an action added, click + Add Action to add another action.
  4. In the Add Action window, select the CRM tab and click the option for your CRM.
    • Salesforce: Create Salesforce Task
    • Dynamics: Create Task in Dynamics
    • HubSpot: Create Task in HubSpot CRM
  5. In the window that opens, enter the following:
    • Subject: Enter a subject or click + {{ Token }} to use a token to help define the subject. Tokens allow you to write the value from one field to another.
    • Assignee: Select a CRM user as the assignee.
    • Due in Day(s): Enter the number of days the assignee has to complete the task.
    • Comments: Enter a comment or click + {{ Token }} to use a token to help define the comment. Tokens allow you to write the value from one field to another.

The following example shows the window for creating a Salesforce task.
  6. Click Save.

When the Automation runs, Demandbase identifies accounts or people that meet the Selector criteria and creates tasks in your CRM for the assignees.
