Context
Salesforce allows you to set up account hierarchies by defining parent accounts for subsidiaries, or child accounts. In Demandbase, you can use one or both of the following options to roll up People, Opportunity, and Activity engagement data for child accounts to parent accounts. The roll up of engagement data applies to all hierarchy levels set up in Salesforce.
View in Demandbase
You can roll up child accounts in Demandbase to include the engagement data for child accounts when you look at parent accounts.
Write to Salesforce
You can have Demandbase roll up engagement data for child accounts to parent accounts and write the aggregate sum of the engagement fields to Salesforce. The data appear in Salesforce fields such as Engagement (7 days) and Engagement (3 mo.) and can be used in MQA calculations.
After Demandbase enables this option, you can no longer see data for only parent accounts. The data that appears in Salesforce and Demandbase always includes data for the parent and child accounts. This option is more permanent and impacts key Demandbase functionality.
