Recommended People Overview
When an unknown visitor lands on your website, Demandbase uses a combination of Buying Group and Person-Based Intent (PBI) data to recommend people from that Account who are most likely showing intent signals.
Recommended People are only available for Accounts that meet all of the following criteria:
- Identified Buying Group Members exist for the account
- PBI data is available for those contacts (either known signals or modeled persona intent)
- The account's Buying Groups have the following configured:
- Personas (job level and job function)
- Intent Keyword Sets
- Web Pages (used to map visits to Buying Groups)
Powered by Person-Based Intent (PBI)
Recommended People is driven by Person-Based Intent (PBI), a model that estimates intent signals at the person level using Demandbase’s proprietary identification and intent technologies.
PBI data is made up of the following components:
- High-confidence, person-level intent signals.
- Modeled intent, based on the behavior of contacts with similar Personas (job level and job function)
Person-Based Intent (PBI) Score Overview
A PBI score is assigned to each visitor by measuring how closely their Persona aligns with others who have shown strong intent. This score helps answer “Who is most likely responsible for this Account’s intent signals?”
The steps to generate a PBI score are as follows:
- Buying Group Mapping: When a visitor lands on a webpage, Demandbase checks if that page is mapped to one or more Buying Groups for the account.
Important: At least one Buying Group must be mapped in order for Recommended People to appear. - Persona Matching & Intent Scoring: Demandbase compares the visitor’s attributes and behavior against known and modeled Personas within those Buying Groups. Each contact receives a PBI score based on the intent keyword sets associated with the matched Buying Group(s), indicating how likely they are to be the source of the account-level intent signal.
- People Recommendation: Buying Group Members with the highest PBI scores are shown as Recommended People.
Star Rating for PBI Score
PBI Score is reflected using the following star ratings:
- 5 stars = High-confidence intent signal
- 4 stars = Strong intent signal
- 3 stars = Moderate intent signal
- 2 stars = Low intent signal
- 1 star = Weak intent signal
