Best Practices for Salesforce Field Permissions

  • Updated

To ensure data synchronization between Demandbase and Salesforce, we recommend granting the integration sync user access to the standard Salesforce fields.

If you restrict the integration sync user's access to certain fields, such as the standard Address field, you must maintain access to the fields required for the integration to function properly.

Demandbase automatically selects the required fields, which cannot be modified. See Demandbase - Salesforce Required Fields.

For additional information, see:

Prerequisites to Configure Salesforce Field Permissions

You must have admin rights in Salesforce.

Important: The Salesforce Integration and API Only System Integration profiles do not provide all the required permissions. We recommend creating a dedicated integration sync user and assigning a permission set with API Enabled access. See Salesforce's article Create a Permission Set and Grant API Enabled Access.

Configure Salesforce Field Permissions

Grant the integration sync user at least Read access to the Salesforce fields listed in the following table.
Tip: To use Take Action or Orchestration with Salesforce records, grant Read, Write, and Edit access.
