Industry Code Updates

The business world undergoes constant change, not only at the level of individual companies but at the industry level. New industries emerge, and old ones evolve or disappear. At Demandbase, we strive to ensure that the way we represent the business world to our customers reflects these changes.

That's why we're improving our industry classification system to ensure that you always have the easiest path to finding the companies and contacts that are critical to your business. We're refining overly broad codes so customers can retrieve more targeted results. We're getting rid of codes that don’t make sense anymore and eliminating redundancies (no need to have both Legal Services and Law Firms, for instance). We’re adding new codes we’ve never had, like Social Media.

This article reports all changes to our classification system as they are released. For a complete view of our current industry code structure Demandbase Industries and Sub-Industries List.

If you have used any of the affected industry codes in your system’s business rules, note that you should update your rules.
