Take Action with the Buying Group Action Agent

  • Updated

The Action Agent is an AI-powered agent designed to automate routine, high-friction marketing tasks within Buying Group Insights. Instead of navigating multiple dashboards and selectors, you can take direct actions, such as creating account lists or exporting data, using just a few clicks or a simple prompt.

Access the Action Agent

To use the Action Agent:

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to AI Dashboard.
  2. You can open the Action Agent in two ways:
    • From the Buying Group Overview:
If a cell has over 50% Persona Completeness, a Take Action button appears when you hover over it. This button becomes active only if the cell contains 100 or fewer accounts. Click this button to open the Action Agent and automatically select all accounts within that cell.
    • From the Accounts or People Tables:
Select one or more accounts or people in the table. A Take Action button appears above the table headers. Click Take Action launch the Action Agent.

Using the Action Agent

  1. The Action Agent displays the following categories of prompts based on the selected object type:
    • Demandbase Related Actions (accounts only)
    • Partner Actions (people only)
    • CRM Related Actions

  2. Click a category to see prompt options.
  3. Enter a prompt to run the Action Agent.

Examples

Create an Account List

You’ve identified several accounts with high persona completeness that are not engaged. You want to add these accounts to an account list so they can be used in a re-targeting campaign that spans multiple teams.

  1. In the Buying Group Overview heatmap, select a cell that shows high persona completeness and low engagement.
  2. In the Accounts table, select the accounts you want to add to a new static account list, and click Take Action.
  3. Enter the prompt: Add accounts to a new public static list named ‘High Persona, Low Engagement – Retargeting Q3 2025.’
  4. The agent shows the required input fields. Based on what you entered in the prompt, some fields may already be populated. Fill in any remaining fields as needed.
  5. After you complete all relevant fields, the agent automatically begins processing the request.
  6. The agent asks you to confirm the action. Click Yes
  7. The agent completes the action by:

    • Provides links to Action History.
    • Provides link for Automation Actions in Orchestration.
    • Confirmation that the task has been successfully completed.
    • Suggest additional actions.

Act on Buying Group Insights

You notice a group of accounts in the Buying Group Overview with 50–75% Persona Completeness but low engagement. The Buying Group Agent recommends re-targeting these accounts and identifying specific people to follow up with.

  1. In the Engagement by Personas chart, filter to see unengaged Decision-Makers.
  2. Select 25 individuals in the People table and click Take Action.
  3. In the Action Agent, select Partner Actions.

  4.  Select Add to Marketo Campaign.
  5. The Action Agent asks you to select a specific Marketo campaign. From the drop-down, select a Marketo campaign.

  6. The agent automatically begins processing the request.
  7. The agent asks you to confirm the action. Click Yes.
  8. The agent completes the action by:
    • Provides links to Action History.
    • Provides link for Automation Actions in Orchestration.
    • Confirmation that the task has been successfully completed.
    • Suggest additional actions.

Best Practices for Prompts

While the Action Agent provides default prompts to guide you through common workflows, you can also type your own instructions directly into the chat field.

Here are a few tips to help you get the best results:

Be Specific

Instead of vague commands like “Change account data…”, specify exactly what you want to do.

For example: “Update the industry field to ‘Healthcare’ for these accounts.”

Include Values Where Needed

If you're updating fields or requesting data changes, be sure to specify which field and what value you want to set.

Avoid: “Change account data.”

Preferred: “Change the account status to ‘Target’ for all selected records.”

Limit to 100 When Required

Some actions (like adding to Outreach or Salesforce Campaigns) are limited to 100 records at a time. If needed, divide your prompt into smaller batches.
