GDPR Data impact

Updated:

As part of our continued commitment to data privacy, we have taken steps in recent weeks to make the Demandbase ABM Platform even more secure and GDPR compliant. This may have impacted Platform pageviews in the following ways:

1. Demandbase infrastructure improvements

Due to these infrastructure improvements related to increase data minimization and privacy, we temporarily experienced an issue with logging pageview data. As a result, you may notice a decrease in pageviews or other site metrics in the Platform charts and graphs for a few days over the last couple of weeks. Please note that the issue was resolved on June 10th and your Demandbase personalization and 3rd party integrations were not impacted. Rest assured that we have taken the necessary steps to prevent further incidents. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or contact our Demandbase support team at support@demandbase.com.

2. Your onsite consent manager

A consent manager is a tool you can use on your site to get permission to collect personal data. Visitors interact with the consent manager to see what cookies are being set and what data tracking technology is on the site. If you have the Demandbase Tag behind a consent manager, the Tag will not fire until consent is given. This may impact your pageview data depending on your implementation and visitor consent.

3. Ad inventory

Receiving appropriate consent from individuals before engaging in personalized advertising with those individuals is a central feature of GDPR compliance. Publishers are leveraging opt-in mechanisms and ad exchange bidders like Demandbase are equipped to receive the opt-in attribute from publishers and bid accordingly. If you are running an ad campaign with Demandbase, you received an email explaining that inventory might be constrained during the transitionary period during which publishers are adopting consent managers and other opt-in technology and individuals are deciding whether to opt in.
