Understanding CSV Data Import Results

You can see information about your CSV data imports by going to the Database section. You can also export and analyze all audit reports. 

From the left navigation bar, go to Database. Go to Accounts, Opportunities, or People > Data Import and click the name of a data import.

Report Tab

The Report tab shows information about the data import in the overview cards and table. You can also see additional information by exporting the audit report.   

Overview Cards

The overview cards show a summary of the import results for the following objects: 

  • Accounts: Number and percentage of matched accounts, matched accounts needing review, and invalid accounts.
  • People: Number and percentage of matched people and new people records created.
  • Opportunities: Number and percentage of matched opportunities and new opportunities created.

Table

The table shows every entry in the import file and the following information: 

Accounts Table

  • Account Name: Account name.
  • Account Domain: Account domain.
  • Match Result
    • Matched - Matched account was found in Demandbase. The account is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • Error Message - Matched account was not found in Demandbase. The account is not added or updated in the customer database.
      Tip: For errors, hover over the status icon to see more details.
  • Matched Name: Name of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Matched Domain: Domain of the account matched in Demandbase.

Tip: Click View as Account List to see the account list created by Demandbase during the CSV import.

Opportunities Table

  • Opportunity ID: Opportunity ID. 
  • Opportunity Name: Opportunity name. 
  • Owner: Opportunity owner. 
  • Account Name: Account name.
  • Account Domain: Account domain.
  • Match Result: 
    • Matched - Matched opportunity was found in Demandbase. The opportunity is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • Error Message - Matched opportunity was not found in Demandbase. The opportunity is not added or updated in the customer database.
      Tip: For errors, hover over the status icon to see more details.
  • Matched Name: Name of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Matched Domain: Domain of the account matched in Demandbase.

Tip: Click View as Opportunity List to see the opportunity list created by Demandbase during the CSV import.

People Table

  • First Name
  • Last Name 
  • Email 
  • Match Result
    • Matched - Matched person was found in Demandbase. The person is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • Error Message - Matched person was not found in Demandbase. The person is not added or updated in the customer database.
      Tip: For errors, hover over the status icon to see more details.

View Audit CSV 

Click View Audit CSV to export the audit report as a CSV file. The report shows import match results and the following information: 

Accounts Report 

  • Account Name: Account name from the CSV file.
  • Account Domain: Account domain from the CSV file.
  • Match Result: 
    • True - Matched account was found in Demandbase. The account is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • False - Matched account was not found in Demandbase. Import is ignored. 
  • Match Reason: 
    • New Account (True) - Matched account does not exist in the customer database. New account is created. 
    • Existing Account (True)- Matched account exists in the customer database. CSV field data is updated. 
    • Duplicate (False) - Account with the same Account Name and Account Domain already exists in the CSV file. Import is ignored. 
    • Invalid (False) - Account does not exist in the Demandbase database. Import is ignored. 
    • Domain is for Sale (False) - Domain is flagged as "is for sale". Import is ignored. 
  • Matched Name: Name of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Matched Domain: Domain of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Details: Additional details when there is a False match result. 

Opportunities Report 

  • Opportunity ID: Opportunity ID from the CSV file. 
  • Account Name: Account name from the CSV file.
  • Account Domain: Account domain from the CSV file.
  • Match Result:
    • True: Matched opportunity was found in Demandbase. The opportunity is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • False: Matched opportunity was not found in Demandbase. Import is ignored. 
  • Match Reason:
    • New Opportunity (True): Matched opportunity does not exist in the customer database. New opportunity is created.
    • Existing Opportunity (True): Matched opportunity exists in the customer database. CSV field data is updated. 
    • Duplicate (False): Same opportunity already exists in the CSV file. Import is ignored. 
    • Invalid (False): Matched account name and account domain was not found in Demandbase. Import is ignored. 
  • Matched Name: Name of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Matched Domain: Domain of the account matched in Demandbase.
  • Details: Additional details when there is a False match result.

People Report 

  • Person ID: Person ID from the CSV file
  • Account Name: Account Name if provided in the CSV file
  • Account Domain: Account Domain if provided in the CSV file
  • Match Result: 
    • True: Matched person was found in Demandbase. The person record is added or updated (if existing) in the customer database.
    • False: Matched person was not found in Demandbase. Record is ignored. 
  • Match Reason: 
    • existing person: Existing person record modified
    • new person: New person record created
  • Matched Name: Matched person Account Name
  • Matched Domain: Matched person Account Domain
  • Person First Name: Person First Name from CSV file
  • Person Last Name: Person Last Name from CSV file
  • Person Email: Person Email Address from CSV file
  • Details: Additional details when there is a False match result. 

Data Tab

The Data tab shows records that were successfully imported. 

Detail Tab

The Detail tab shows information about the data import job. You can also access and download the source file.
