Another way to confirm that your Demandbase integration is working properly is to test it with different IP addresses, an approach called "IP Spoofing."
- Contact your Demandbase representative to request an IP Spoofing test.
- Demandbase staff will perform the test and let you know the results.
March 2019 Security Update
Why is this change being made?
We made this change in order to secure custom attribute data that may have been appended to the API response. This data is sent with the Demandbase company API data which allows you to segment traffic within your third party integrations such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
What’s the Impact?
We understand that this change may impact the way you test Demandbase solutions. Previously, you had the ability to utilize a browser extension to specify the IP address via the X-Forwarded-For header. We have disabled this functionality and the response from the Demandbase API will now be the data associated with your public IP address rather than the spoofed IP address you’ve specified.
How will I test going forward?
We’re actively working to create a secure solution to allow you to spoof IP addresses while also keeping your data secure. Our goal is to have a solution in place that allows you to spoof IP addresses securely over the coming months.
What do I do until the IP Spoofing Security update is released?
- For customers working with an Implementation Team: Reach out to your Project Manager or Implementation Engineer and they will be happy to spoof an IP address and screen share with you to test the functionality.
- For customers who have live implementations: Email firstname.lastname@example.org with a CC: to your CSM, and we will be happy to spoof an IP address and screen share with you to test the functionality.
