Context
Custom agents allow you to specify criteria for the types of news articles and current events you want to see in Demandbase One for Sales (formerly Sales Intelligence). For the best results, it is recommended that you carefully select your criteria and then test and fine tune your selections.

Next Steps
While custom agents can provide more meaningful insights, they can also return unwanted results or noise. The Demandbase One for Sales content team regularly updates and refines the standard agents to provide only the most relevant results. It is recommended that you take a similar approach when creating custom agents. To ensure your custom agents provide the most relevant results, use the following methods for testing and tuning them.
- Test custom agents - Click Test after you create or update a custom agent to test it against companies in one or more of your watchlists.
- Build lists - After a new or updated custom agent finishes processing, you can use it as criteria when building a company or contact list. This allows you to test the agent across all companies in Demandbase One for Sales, not just the ones in your watchlist.
Tip: This method provides much broader results than the previous method to test custom agents. - Review watchlist email alerts - Use watchlist email alerts to validate the effectiveness of your custom agents. If you notice too many irrelevant custom agent results in your email alerts, modify your criteria to narrow the results. If you don’t see any custom agent results in your email alerts, modify your criteria or add new ones to expand your results.
