Adding a Tracker Name in GTM

  • Updated

A tracker name is recommended if you have more than one Google Analytics instance. Without a tracker name, there is no guarantee data passes correctly. Demandbase data will flow into whichever instance loads first each time. If you intend to utilize a tracker name in Google Analytics, please notify your project manager or customer success manager.

Demandbase Tracker Name Requirements

  • Unique (we usually recommend appending the date ie "uniqueTracker01012020" to ensure safeguarding against and repeated tracker names)
  • Alphanumeric (this includes omitting dashes and underscores)
  • Do not use the same Google Analytics property (usually something like "UA-XXXXXXX") as the tracker name

Step 1: Navigate to the Universal tag for the Google Analytics property you'll be adding a tracker name to.Screen_Shot_2017-03-28_at_2.11.52_PM.png

Step 2: Edit the configuration.Screen_Shot_2017-03-28_at_2.21.58_PM.png
